Piwik 2.4.0 bug with special characters in MySQL credentials (username/password)

Details
Written by Frank Delventhal

Sadly there is a bug in the new version of the tracking tool Piwik (2.4.0).

Special characters are wrongly written in the config file. So a
§ turns out as a §. Therefore it is impossible to get a working connection to the required database. The bug was discovered while doing an update for an already running Piwik System, that has been successfully updated several times before. As a complete new installation with old and new database and even new User/Password combination were not satisfying further investigation was required.

XML-sitemap generator and sh404sef security-settings (Troubleshooting)

20013-03-20 SiteMapGenerator-Security sh404sef I was not content with the several sitemap generators for Joomla! which I had tried out. In a chat with Jan Giselberg (joomla-downloads.de) he told me about an external (not integrated in Joomla!) Sitemap Generator (http://www.xml-sitemaps.com), enough reason for me to give it a try.

The basic configuration was easy and a little later I generated my first sitemap.xml. Sadly not all of my links were included. The site is not huge, but it has a little more content than that. That meant RTFM (read the fucking manual) - so I was searching the forums but did not get a real hit of what happened. While I watched another generation procedure, I discovered that the pages where found, but still did not make it into the sitemap.
So I took a look at the change log (one of the tabs) showed me that 69 pages where not included

Spammers ziehen auf Apple Nutzer mit Pishing-Angriffen

Criminals do not only target on bank accouts, paypal or amazon accounts. Lately the apple user is targeted by these phishing attacks. So if you receive an email from apple it is worth taking a second look, especially as the original layouts get copied better and better.

The first thing, that I recognized was, that I have not been addressed personally. Then I saw that I did not use that email account for registering. That made the attack pretty obvious.

Making better use of Bootstrap with the JCE-Editor (css download)

StylesDropdown13-03-2013-15-31-34 The JCE-Editor is the first choices when it comes to the question: "Which aditional components should I install in Joomla! ?" The free communiy version will do for the tipps in this article. With the premium subscription you get some aditional plug-ins that save you a lot of time and for that small fee it is a no-brainer.If you are also using a template that is based on the Bootstap-Framework, we have a small treat for you.

It is a small CSS-file that let´s you set bootstrap formatations with the JCE.

The nice thing is that the file let you see otherwise "invisible" elements. So editing can be a lot easier. For example the striped backgrounds are only shown while editing, for normal visitors your site will look as usual.
